László L. Simon
poet, writer, editor, visual artist and expert in culture
László L. Simon is a poet, writer, editor, visual artist and expert in culture. He was born in Székesfehérvár (Hungary) in 1972. He is an editor of the periodicals Magyar Műhely, Szépirodalmi Figyelő, Kommentár and Kortárs, as well as various books and anthologies. He is also engaged in action poetry and creating installations and object poetry compositions. He has 9 books (with his poems, visual poems, essays and photos), his latest volume, called Japán hajtás, was published by Kortárs Publishers in 2008. He was the president of the Young Writers’ Association (1998–2004), today he is the secretary of Hungarian Writers’ Association (2004-). He is teacher in Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Honour: József Attila Prize (2007). He has been a Member of the Parliament as president of the Comitee on Cultural Matters and the Media since 2010.
